Clearing text fields onMouseDown?

I'm wondering if anybody knows a way to have a text field with a set variable automatically clear when th user clicks in it.

currently i'm using an invisible button over the text field so that when it's clicked it sets the variable to nothing, but this requires that the user click twice.

it there a better way?

this needs to work under flash 4.

Try (On Rollover, Press, Release) this would make for 3 events...

I need help with this. i have flash 5 and mx if you need to know i cant figure out how to do this.
