    Copyright Questions

    Hello!

I want to ask if i am allowed to use the freeware sound loops and sound effects for my self-programmed computer programs. This programs I present on my homepage. I am not shure if i am only allowed to use the sounds for flash presentations or not.

Sorry my English is not so good!

    Copyright

I am not sure, if I am allowed to use it, because the music files are in the program- directory of my game. So every user of the game is able to copy them out of the directory into his own music directory.

But i will write in my game, that nobody should use or copy them..

    Is that ok?

I'm sure as long as you say where you got them and the author's name (if its listed) would be sufficient as long as you are not selling your programs. If you are selling them I would recommend contacting each author and asking for permission individually, you will most likely have to pay them a percentage unless they are kind hearted.

If the file is listed as freeware
    or shareware limitations of usage
    are usually attached.
The main limitation being is it use
for commercial or non commercial usage
regardless of what the final format is.

Some disallow usage for commercial projects
whilst others will allow for commercial usage
    under certain circumstances.
Freeware means free to use not always free to
    redistribute.
Quite a few distributors have gone to court
and lost redistributing freeware as shareware or
    payware compilations.

Contacting the author is always the best way
to resolve the matter. Before it becomes an
issue. Usually authors of the material are
simply thankful an effort was made and are willing
to workout something amenable for all.
