    Duplicated MC in memory

    Lets say I have a movieclip which I keep duplicating on the stage using the same name but different depths on every enterframe event.

    Does this lead to consumption of higher memory. Or is it that only one MC will remain in memory, since the instance name will always be maintained.

    Why on earth would you want to do that?

    If you want a single movieclip on stage but want to change depths, use .swapDepth();

    If you want several movieclips on stage using the same design, use attachMovie(); or duplicateMovieClip(); but use a different instance name as otherwise you can't access them using ActionScript.
