Good dimensions for a flash website
What are some good dimensions for a website made in just flash? I want it to fill the width of the window, and a little more then the length of the window so you scroll down. Any suggestions?

770x450 is what I use so that people on 800x600 monitors can see the whole site without scrolling.

Sounds good, looks good, Thanks!

Dont know but all you have to do is make a screen dump at that resolution and measure the available area in Photoshop.

Then do a simple math.
If the viewable area of a 800x600 id 770x450, that means that Explores takes up 350 pixels from the screen height. Should take up as much on a 1024 screen.

That made little or no sense. It wont take up the same space on a 1024x768 monitor. Could someone just reply with the numbers? please?

My typo, with Explorer using toolbars and such there is 150 pixels that get lost, that you have to take away from the swf size.
So for a 800x600, that means a height of your movie of 450 pixels at most.
On a 1024x768 monitor Explorer still uses only 150 pixels so you should be able to use about 620 for the height and about 990 for width.
On the other hand if you use a popup ( without borders or anything ), you can use almost the whole screen.

Wow pellepiano, you are more patient then me! If Oxalic left a rude response like that to me, I would have told him that the best size for him would be RUDE by A@@HOLE!

Dimension is really looking good and creative work, But if you can improve it more than it will be good the business industry also.

When I choose dimensions, I look at industry leaders who have similar sites. For example, if you are creating a product catalog for crafts, look at major craft store chain's Flash Apps for products. If I were to create a flash game site about video games, I'd look at the Nintendo's game sites. The good thing about following the herd when it comes to sizes, is that your visitors will be used to what you give them, even if it means hitting ctrl + "-" to alter their zoom, because they do it ll the time when they visit major sites.
