I was ready to buy!!!
I was so psyched all those changes were happening and then at the END you reveal it is a wishlist.
If they did those changes, forget it, it'd be a flash world wide web.

import mov, avi and export as swf

A small thing that would be so helpful:
I wish that you could see multiple timelines simultaneously- like if you are in a child movieclip to right click the mc's up the root (or in the library) to open a popup window with that mc's timeline in it.
Another idea to make it easier to navigate between timelines would be a back button to see the timelines you were in before.

I think MM will be more inclined to take interface design advice from their lawyers for Flash6 instead of us...considering their lawsuits from Adobe this year.

just a thought
how about being able to change the fps on eace Scene i dont know if this has been asked but i didnt have all the time in the world to read all the replys lol

Illustrator
Hey there,
I'd like to see the well-famous Illustrator-tool called Gradient Mesh (in a shape with color x, you add a point with color y and the program calculates the gradient)
Also I'd like to see some more filters in it. Some DECENT blur-tools, sharpening-tools, noise, sketch, find edges etc. It will stop me from im- and exporting images created in Photoshop or Illustrator into Flash, would come in handy very well...
Bye

Automatically recover file space when objects are removed from the object library or frames are deleted. I had an 18meg .fla and removed every single thing and it was still 18meg!
Being able to optionally overwrite the html file when publishing rather than it being automatic.
Being able to do perspectives on the vector images without having to go into freehand.

A friendly reminder
Everyone seems to want Adobe products such as illustrator or photoshop to be overly compatable with Flash
But people fail to relize that Adobe and Macromedia are 2 different competing companies that have the same type of products.
for example
adobe photoshop --> macromedia Fireworks
adobe GoLive --> macromedia flash
Adobe Illustrator --> macromedia freehand
each product of adobe's, macromedia has a similar product more compatible with flash. You shouldnt expect macromedia to incorporate more of the competitions product in their own, when they would rather you buy more macromedia products.
Its just my oppinion, but I feel that all of macromedias products such as flash, freehand, or director, are much better then thoughs of adobe's (except for Photoshop which just rules!)
So next time you want more integration of adobe products, just remember , why the hell would macromedia want to let you use their main competitors products, when you could get their own!

hmm guys.... i often read:
premade Text effects in flash 6.
sorry,..i cant see anymore those text effects like used in swish and so on... every page has the same effect thats boring.
flash6 does NOT need any premade texteffects..for those are tools outisde and real flash users dont use such "cheap" text effects.
other things posted in this board are much more important than these boring evrywhere seen text effects.
happy new year

I missed the Flash 6 Imaginary Screen Shots. Does anyone have them that would email them to me? Thanks. - mnicolls@motionsitesinc.com

Flash as Audio Sequencer
My Flash 6 wish, would be that they add the ability to add a lot more than 8 envelope points for editing audio tracks in Flash. I'm just discovering the ability to use Flash as an audio sequencer and more envelope points will allow me to create even better soundtracks with small file sizes.
When I put several layers of audio next to each other and I view/edit one, it would great to be given the choice of seeing the other audio layers at the same time like a real sequencer. Maybe check boxes to select which audio layers to see in relation to one another.

How about the ability to handle three 45MB wav files and compress them all into mp3 format without locking up.
Built in 3D animation software
Um.......spell check (hell it uses text, why not make sure crap is correctly spelled)
ability to import .avi movie files
multiple object tweening per layer (I am sick of 1 tween per layer)
Higher export compression ratio. (I make movies for newgrounds.com and movies I make need to be under 2MB)
audio "wav" editing feature (import wav's then edit them)
webcam imput feature
this is all I can think of for now.
-
There's that "built-in software" again.
However, it would be nice if you could tween along the Z-axis and let Flash handle the 3D-2D conversion. You don't really need a whole package though.

swapsymbols?
i`d really love to see a swapsymbols function. maybe i`m just blind and didnt see a corresponding function but i`d find it a lot easier if i`d have to reanimate only one movie clip, instead of every copy i`ve made for every single grafic instance

I see a lot of requests for 3D functionality, spell checking and swish-type plugins. Please, give it a break !
Flash wasn't really designed to be all-in-one wonder. Unless you are planning on pirating it, its cost would be sky-high, which i personally cannot afford. Be little more creative ! If you want Photoshop-like approach... switch to LiveMotion and stop complaining. I think there are more important issues that Macromedia needs to address:
poor handling of bitmaps; highly idiotic, clumsy interface ;and antialiasing issues. I saw some really good ideas in the wishlist: loading and unloading bitmaps, adding addressable line numeration in the actionscript. I really do love new approach to scripting, though I do not understand why there are still deprecated Flash 4 scripting options. Another very important thing is possible making Flash to read some system variables and information, such as screen resolution... without using any external scripts. And of cousre adding more vector tools though it is not as important.

Integrated C++
I thing Flash 6 should give you the option to write all of you coding or "Actionscript"
in gool 'ol, much more powerful and controlable c++.
Also a 3d interface would be interesting.
Texture creating and Shaders.
Polygon, point, surface editing.
Texture applying!
Full Rendering ability.
Average 3d tools;
extrude, extrude inner, bevel, smooth shift, knife, etc.
3d animation like rotation, point level animation, position readjusting further more than a 2d screen.
How's that Mark?
pretty good?
I know it will never happen, but it's the holiday season...
well not really!
Well see ya,
Chris

Re: A friendly reminder
I agree with you, but that's what's made Microsoft the popular and beloved company that it is today. Neither of these guys is going to get the whole market, in fact, they each do something well (like Photoshop rules!, or Flash) and each have some average stuff (PageMill or Fireworks). By working better with one another's software, they will assist the many users who do go both ways ,and attrct users from one company to the other, by making it possible to go to the newest or best product as it becomes available. Would you switch from MM stuff to Adobe if none of you're files worked in it, even though MM has a better program to use.
Whatever, it's not gonna happen . . . . I'll just settle for figuring out more Flash until Live Motion hits version 2.
