i'd like to see an option in where you can define 2 or more objects, and a type of tween.. so lets say, a circle, a square, and a triangle..
then, through actionscript you can shape tween between them..
know what i mean? not through frames, but through actionscript.. so it won't be blocky by the frames and you have much more control.

when a new layer is created, the name should be highlighted in preparation for the user typing a name better than "Layer n" Currently you have to create a new layer, then select it for a name change.

simple but useful change.

All of these are good suggestions. I was gonna post my thoughts but I believe they are all covered here!? Anyway, one thing that I don't think anybody mentioned: an easier way for Flash to shoot flames out of my monitor halfway across the room - help me with that and your a true FLASH MASTER!

Once again I've few ideas that i would glad to see in the next flash...
excuse me if some of these options already exists and i haven't figured it out !!!

- an history palet
- a connection simulator (to see how react my movie when loaded a 3 or 5 or 20 Kb/sec)
- sub-layers
- possibility to move, animate or add shades to mask
- easy-scripting (drag and drop) as director 8.5
- better integration with illustrator, or better drawing possibilties in flash
- drawing thing: the possibilty to convert a stroke into a plain form

I was wondering if you could possibly add the feature to create Flash movies in other languages like Arabic and Urdu.

I was having a lot of prolem creating any sort of joined writing in Arabic with the several Arabic fonts that I have and I was wondering wouldn't it be nice if Flash also supported the Ligature Joining that has been introduced by Miscrosoft in their applications like MS Word.

What you prpobably need to do is to enable the text box to process the characters that have been typed in some particular font like Arabic Transparent or Traditional Arabic and create as many logical joinings as possible and create vector formats of all joined characters to be used in Flash.

That would be of great help and would certainly make Flash more acceptable world wide.

I just want the manual to actually say what's going on, rather than lying or ignoring stuff.
Go and get koolmoves if all you want to do is text effects, and stick your photoshop up your backside.
I want greater knowledge of the limitations of flash, whatever they are, so i can find ways to be CREATIVE without spending 8 hours on an actionscript guessing game because the damn manual was written by a moron.

There is a lot of competition amongst the photoshop brigade to use the "kooooolest" new "effects" i.e. to get a big mess happening at the click of a mouse, and then impress your mates who think you must be clever to chose "Filter-Motion Blur" YET AGAIN!!!!!

GRGGRRRRRRRGRGGGGRRRRR stay away from flash, you people make my life hell, whenever i mention flash to a client they say "ooh no we don't want loads of crap flying all over the screen taking ages to load"

Macromedia don't you dare turn flash into Fireworks. Drop shadow? go back to school.

Just fix the bugs and rewrite the manual!!

Flash 6 (should be carbonized for OS X)

- should allow keyboard shortcut for dynamic input textfields.

- should contain a sound sequencer to play and interact few sound loops.

- should contain (if it's not yet done...) a "my common library"...with all the symbols we use more than one time.

- should have a snippets panel (like the snippets panel for DW4)...that contains all the action scripting we often use...to see an exemple for DW...go to http://www.projectseven.com/viewer/snippets.htm

They should bring back the ease and usability of Flash 4. Simple things like dragging a key frame and creating custom colours in flash 4 is much better.

Overall I think the Flash 5 interface is slow, fiddly and rubbish and it should go back to the way Flash 4 was.

In the debugger..when i have it open, and change something in the FLA ant test movie again, it is emty, so i have to restart.. fix that.

In Expert mode of AS, if u make something wrong u cant convert it to basic mode, fix that, but highlight the code thats not working with a special color,, RED! so we know

Ehh.. hard to explain things..
If you create a mask path, or any movement of an MC,
then i want some option so i can save the path,
and use it on the next MC aswell, so i dont need to make it all over,

the color table in Flash 5 is terrible...i cant pick out the colors i want from the little table, and i cant even select grayscale...so i have to go to the other table and blH BHLAH BLAH.. ITS JUST TERRIBLE.. in Flash 4 it was great..
get back to Flash 4 color table....
