well i wasnt pointing fingers, what i was trying to say was that there's been a bunch of times companies put up work they have done for "Fortune 500" only to find out they animated the grass on the baseball field while the camera was on the pitcher.
So sometimes the portfolio can be misleading. The firm I worked for had a huge client, this was a draw back. Since the client wanted a variety of projects with a tight deadline we accepted, only to realize that we didn't have time for the current clients we already had.

I think FI will only take the project if they have time to do it...and without sacrificing quality. So I am sure a bunch of people get turned down from FI because they don't have the time, and if they took the project they would sacrifice quality.

This site is exactly what I expected from FI and a great example of how to design a highly usable flash site.

This site imo is a benchmark for the presentation of information via the web - it exploits the power of flash to deliver immersive content which hits home to the user - I got a real feel of the character and philosophy of FI whilst browsing their site, it felt more personal.

They have not abused the platform, they have embraced it and such have demonstrated that many of flash's assumed weaknesses (deep linking, bookmarking etc) are achievable in a way "averages users" are familiar with ie. hover over a button and an alt text appears - they dont intimidate and show off with flash rather they focus their implementation and design on usability and interaction and presentation and I for one think this site is an example of thinking outside the box when it come to flash.

I have never seen flash used in this particular way and with FI they have demonstrated this 3 times now - Road Runner, Ford and now their corporate site.

Hats off, I for one will be taking note

I agree. FI has marked a new way to design with Flash that answers all the stopping points people have with it:

    Back Buttons
    Bookmarking
    Load time
    Useability

Maybe they should write a book

A book would be awesome but I have the feeling that as the book comes out they produce more solutions with flash, thus making the book out of date
It must be obvious day at camp stupid

Very clean and simple yet excellent in presentation. The colour combinations are great. Seems to me that FI and 2advanced are both doing some great stuffs for Ford. Still recall the matrix teaser on FI's website long time back, the evolution never cease to amaze me!

I am a modernist from the print world so naturally I hate this kind of design.

However, I dont think I have played with a site this thouroughly in a long long time. I sat here at work going through it for about 10 mins, then when I got home I spent a good hour watching the video and playing with there work. It is just phenominal flash work within every aspect of web design. What a talented team they have, I am going to use this as an example and pass it around the office, very inspirational on a motivational level and I am slowly grasping the style

Very nice work though, I wish I worked with a team like that.
