Newbie for battle
OK, So I've been watching some of the battles here for months now. I've seen some amazing things, and now I'm interested in throwing my hat in the ring by challenging anyone to a battle. Never done one, however, so I'll need some sort of idea for rules and things like that before i start a volley.

Welcome to Flashkit's Arena.
You'd probably be better off posting an image, dictate the pixel size of the image (ex. 640 x 480) and if you're allowing roatation of the image, among other variables and what not.
That way, you can set some rules and allow the person to guage your level and attract like or like-styled competitors.
Hope that makes some sense... if not, feel free to look at some other battles at how they started, post up an image, and get it started.
Again, welcome

I'll accept your challenge even though I'm already doing another battle with someone.
You can look at the battle links in my footer. They are all Fireworks battles so you should be able to get a good idea of things.
One of the most obvious rules is that all volleys MUST retain a portion of the original image as per the Playah Guidelines which I suggest you take a look at. Other than that, you can set your own rules.

Challenge
Yes, I understand what you are looking for with this rule. Now, I've got no problem challenging you, however, i'm not sure if we are to use one program or another, or if it's like a Photoshop file, do we supply all the layers to each other or do we just mask things from previous volleys and use them for the next?

Either Macromedia Fireworks or Photoshop will do fine. Fireworks can open PSD files so if you want to post the PSD file, that'd be fine with me. In fact, I'd really prefer it if you would post the PSD file. If it's too big, try zipping it up or you can e-mail the source file to me.

OK,
Here's the rules.
1. All volleys must be at least 800 X 600 in size. You can go higher but DO NOT go below the 800 X 600 limit.
2. You don't have to stick to any particular theme. Just do something that I can build off of and add to with my own style.
Capisce???

That'll be a little hard to build off of. Can you think of something else? Look at the battle links in my footer if you need inspiration.

Flashkid, if you're unable to build off of it, then allow somebody else to battle instead perhaps?
lefteyewilly, good start. shows quite a bit of creativity and ability.

King of Cool
hey, lefteyewilly, if Flashkid isn't up to the job, I'd be willing to take on the challenge. I like the small canvas - something different for a change.

I'm a newbe,
and I want to give it a shoot.
Can I? Can I? Oh please, please, please!

Flashkid, no offense but, either don't volley, or take your excuses and turn them into a design. If you need me to post a larger image of the same thing, then I will.
