Pictures look good, but I think your over doing it just a little bit. Maybe make the red gradients a brighter red and make the site a little more professional looking. Overall good.

How can I make it more professional. I still need to add a different color background to match the front page, I will try to lighten up and then look at again tommorrow. I deal with alot of contractors and they do not really spend aloto of time reading, they are very busy people, so I wanted to add some intrest to thw site. What should I do to make it more pro. I think a way you can make it look a little more professional is by having pointed edges instead of curved circuler ones. The curved shapes make it kind of a fun site, and since you are selling building material I don't think fun is the angle you want to go to.

well... sorry but i must say this... i hate the intro... that light blue on the red background is realy bad... you must do something with the colors... and when you press on the buttons from your menu bar it would be nice for a preloader to apear...

u need to work a bit on it...

I think the corners need to be smoothed - some aren't quite rounded correctly. the text needs to be more crisp and readable. I was given this link for colours by a kind member of this board (I too am colourblind!)

The springy movement of the section boxes is nice - but it sometimes overlaps each other. You have nice ideas concerning layout - but you need to polish all the little details to make it look professional..

I kicked the black down to #333333 and made the brown a littke lighter. The main tools we sell are black and gold so I want to stick with those colors, just lighten up until I get a positive response. So let me know. I am going to link products to a full white page for descriptions and parts, but I just need to work on colors for now. I will clean up lines after color is right

    agree on color change

I just checked out the site:

    Jan 13, 04 - The colors still need help. I think a red->black gradient doesn't look 'clean'

Obviously a lot of work has gone into the site, so good job on this far. Now, we're just helping tweak it to the next level (which is largely subjective.)

Check out the colors of VersionTracker.com Though it's a site in a completely different context.. the colors appear clean.

Of course, Apple.com always has a clean look.

Since black and gold are colors of products, why not tie those colors in more?

I think it looks better now those gradients have gone. If you clean up the shapes of your boxes, and perhaps think of redoing your scrollbars then you will be about there..

I don't know if that's on purpose, but the 'Specials' scrolls in wrong direction.
In the right-bottom of the 'Specials' & 'Welcome' boxes you have some blue line leftovers.
Why don't you delete all the lines, leave fills only - try it, like it.
Also, either link the e-mail addy, or leave it selectable - people like clicking and/or copyPasting, and don't care much for typing.
    Hope this helps

    It's definitely cartoonsmart

Yes I will remove lines and see. If you do not have enough content it will go in the wrong direction until you put in more words. I am liking it better now. I have a small investment with cartoon smart
