problem with buttons with slider

i was following the tutorial from Kirupa

and the slider works and all, but one problem.

the slider goes on the very beggining of my buttons instead of the middle. I was wondering maybe it is because i am using text as buttons. Is this the case? how can i fix this problem? thanks!!!

it's hard for me to explain how to fix it..

i'd assume something along the lines aligning each of your buttons to center rather than the default of align to top left
