Does mean that 3DF is not being supported?
If I read you accurately, it seems as though you've given up becuase there is little hope of dependable support for this product. If this is so, what is all the fanfare on revitalizing 3DFA?
Your abandoning this products speaks volumes. Ok, so you've got some appointed moderators - where is the development? Any such sign of developmet after a long wait from even hearing from the developer of 3DF would surely be in a Sticky or in an announcement.

the only resone such stuff are getting sticky its because people just cant ignore them !
as for the reson i left.. well , i still use 3DFA (sometimes its just easier...) but now since i've got a scriper who know how to use MX i cant let him do stuff in 3DFA , plus the project i was on is just way too big to handle with 3DFA... trust me.. no way in hell that project is gonna be out using 3DFA .. its just not capable of standing on bouth feets...
as for the moderators... well , even the most apprettiated moderator Blanius has left 3DFA for a little while to use coolMoves.. im not the first one who just quited on 3DFA
i never suggested people should leave 3DFA... in fact i support using it as a newcomers tool at other forums...

My reply was based upon this particular sentence
just had about 100 too many problems with 3DFA ,so e.g im leaving that tool once and for all ! , i hade too much hard time about it .
Perhaps I did read you incorrectly. To me it sounded like the product just had too many problems and as a result - you were leaving it.
In otherwords, it now sounds like the product was not intended for your use and has nothing to do with bugs or development issues.

KoolMoves Moderator
Threads become sticky because Either ED or I have decided that they should and made them sticky, We can also delete and lock a thread. Thats what it means to moderate the forum.
I have indeed purchased Koolmoves and am even acting as a Beta tester for Kookmoves. As I considered a new project there are some things that are just so easy to do in 3dfa compared to ANY flash program I may do a project in 3dfa if it suits my needs. The current release had bugs I was unable to work around for the type of work I was doing and I needed to complete my site so I did it with KM.
Use the right tool for the job I always say.

Why the migraton to other Flash Apps?
The current release had bugs I was unable to work around for the type of work I was doing and I needed to complete my site so I did it with KM.
If I may read between the lines of each post withn this thread, 3DFA is a superior product in many ways and the migration to other Flash products is a result of serious development issues with 3DFA. I think this is a reasonable assumption.
My curiousity is why all the big fanfare with asigned moderators and a sense of renewed interest in 3DFA, when there's little to no hope for development? I've asked this question in my first reply the this post and still no response.
Thank you,
Rick

A Senior Newbie - How Odd
Can't hold back any longer
I tried to avoid the debate on this for as long as possible, but I get seriously bored with people banging on about whether they're leaving the product or not.
If you like it, use it.
If you don't, don't.
You can try it for free, so there's really no reason to feel agrieved if you don't like it, and at $50 it's less than 1 big night on the beer.
If you can afford a developer who's going to do your scripting for you, then you can probably afford the more extensive features you might get with MX. If you're a professional, who earns a lot of money from your website, then perhaps you need the support and tutorials and examples you might be able to find with MX.
If you're a novice, a hobby-ist, a student, or just someone who's interested in what the technology can do, but doesn't really care about living your whole life in Flash, then 3DFA is simply perfect.
OK, it would be great to get a new release with some extra features, or some of those quirks ironed out, but most of them are easily worked around. The Forum is all the support I really need, and I'm very pleased that Ed & Brett, are making the efforts to help us wherever they can. Also, Zoranvedek, Lopez, Rui and lots of others are doing a sterling job.
At the end of the day, do the maths, $50 versus about a thousand (Comparing the full product, not some odd OEM deal). Do you really expect to buy a Rolls Royce for the price of a Mini?
That's the last post I'll make on that topic.
Morgan.
