I don't like how the player and objects moves. All elements jump a step of 32 pixel. this is the tile size.
I found an tutorial on this and want to implement it. seems to be easy for the player movement. but what is with the other elements like stones and emeralds.
hard work.

after spending 6 hours of getting all elements move smooth I give it up. smooth the player movement is easy. but smooth the movement of all the elements is not possible for me.
I don't get it working with this engine. it's a concept problem. i check the collisions within the array. to realize smooth movement I must have a hitbox collision. thats the result of hours of working on it.
no smooth movement in this game

today's new features in game:
- an original feature of the game added: if you press and hold STRG and press an arrow key you dig but don't move. this is sometimes usefull or nessecary.
- bombs are working now. BOOOOM
but the enemies are not working in the moment because I changed a lot of code.
I have edited the first level, it now have bombs. yeah
Whats up guys. Who is able to complete this level and reach the exit.

Another question. Who of you knows the original game (or a clone)?
It's interesting me.

A Senior Newbie - How Odd
I remember a game called Boulderdash, which was the first time I remember it. I can't remember what it was on, but I'm guessing either a ZX Spectrum or Amstrad of some sort.

I have found this today: http://www.shockwave.com/content/tre...easurepleasure
It has so smooth scrolling. But no big levels and a small window.
mmh. what I should do. I think I must fix the scrolling in my game.

I'm afraid it looks like I'm going to be tied up with work for the next few weeks, so it looks like you might have to count me out.
Sorry for that. I'll keep an eye on progress though, and try to chip in as soon as I get a chance.

That's really no problem. School or work first!
and I have to do so many things in the movie first. I'm working on smooth movements and performance improvement. and if a project grows you will have much more bugs in it. but I'll get them all
but nice to hear that you'll watch what is happening.

nice :D

the first level reminds me so much of the old mr. driller games. Those were so fun

Hey!
Couldn't find the original post to the community game.
Just wanted to add an idea. Has anyone considered anyhting like the old "ZORK" game! Even though originally it was "text" based it was a great game and could be made better with a few flash enhancments!
