two ways of building 3D shapes, what is the difference?

I saw two kinds of code, and the result is the same: building a 3D cube
    Here are the links:
    1 --- http://www.flashkit.com/movies/3D/E...-1937/index.php
    2 --- http://www.flashkit.com/movies/3D/E...-2088/index.php

in the 1st case - is used object programming: class, object
    in the 2nd - matrix

The question is: which one is better? well.. i am able to understand 1st code, 2nd - is hard to understand... but if anyone could help me..
    Thank you!

My opinion: Study the one you understand.

The second one has other features that you might not need.
