    [alpha][fps] raycaster

I recently started this raycaster. No texture mapping yet.

So, what's your fps? Try out a few different levels of quality (use page up and page down to change). Thanks

At the highest quality, I was allegedly getting about 9 to 10. Lowest was usually around 15. Good job.

With quality between 15 and 3 I always got about the same value: ~16 fps
Then going down to 2 and 1 really killed the fps with values around 6,7

Tested under Firefox and IE, P4 3.0Ghz

Flash is not the right language for doing a raycast engine. But if you want to do it because of learning well... what is you goal with it?

You're absolutely right. It's way to slow - and I haven't even added the texture mapping.
Yup, it just seemed to be an interesting challange. Got no real plans for it.. except for the traversal algorithm, it may come in handy.
