We still have lots of tidying up to do with the UI,
but you can see that SWiSH has grown up into a proper
application. No-one will call SWiSH a plug-in anymore.

In this screenshot you can see a 4-state button object
(up, over, down, hit) a sprite object (movie-within-a-
movie), an alignment grid, resizing handles, and the
    Insert Frame menu option.

Not visible in this screenshot: multiple selection of
objects, grouping of objects, multiple selection of
effects and actions on the timeline, drawing tools and
importing vector files (WMF, EMF, SWF), plus lots more
I can't remember at the moment.

The current plan goes something like this:

    - First alpha released by Christmas (watch this space)
    - First beta by end-of-January.
    - Final release end-of-February.

I know this is a little later than promised, but hey
    that's life.

    Cheers, David.

    Very promessing

Can't wait to try it. At first glance it look like a mix of flash and 3d gif designer as for the layout. The only think I hope is that the program won't get as difficult as flash for learning. That was the beauty of swish 1.51 was is simplicity to do think. Anyway will just have to come back more often in the forum to find out new trick.
Some of the option mentionned look very promissing.
Keep the good work, and counting the days for the premiere.

    Wow!

Are you sure this is V2 and not V3 ... major step as far as I can see!

I'm sure I speak for everyone else here, we look forward to it and this software has changed our way of working on the web.

I'd love to alpha test for you!

    regards,
    Richard Shea.

Everyone on this forum will learn about any alpha/beta
releases at the same time gets to test at the same time,
and everyone is welcome to test it.

Rest assured SWiSH 2.0 will be every bit as easy to
use as SWiSH 1.x. You'll still be able to do this:

    1. Insert Text.
    2. Add Effect.
    3. Select Explode.
    4. Export to SWF

But you'll be able to do a lot more as well....

    Cheers, David.

    prowebix,

No keyframes, but I'm thinking about some kind of
visual editing of effect transforms so I can get
rid of the confusing Transform dialog.

So you would click on an effect in the timeline
(like Slide In) and in the view window you would
see the object at the start and end positions
with a dotted line between the two (something
like AfterEffects or LiveMotion). You could then
click on either end and edit its position, scale,
    rotation and alpha.

I'd like to get some reaction to this idea.

    Thanks, David.

That sounds great! - I think that any option of viewing the effect has to be a big plus.

    Effect in the timeline

David That a great idea having the possibility to view the effect from the timeline and be able to move the coordinate directly in the viewer. The only think I hope is with all those improvement that the price will not improve accordingly and become as expensive as Flash :-))
To test a alpha or beta version do we have to remove the old swish 1.52 from our computer, because I would like to keep it just in case something go wrong with the alpha or beta version.
Santa you have now my request formy Christmas gif :-)))

Great work, what ever you add I'm sure this forum will support all those quirky things.
Keep on going look what were getting for V2. Flash is up to V5 and thats where it will end if they don't come down to laymans(sorry laypersons) terms.
I think we need a drawing/graphics package with the same ease of use. Come on now that would be just superb.......

David you are a very very sick man!

How on earth am I supposed to

A: sleep whilst waiting for this release

B: Sleep over Christmas after I have got it
