    48 Hour Flashkit Competition BEGINS!

And so on this magical moment, I will reveal to all of you code monkeys the topic of the Fifth Annual 48 Hour Flashkit Competition. Ooo I'm sure you guys have all been waiting so much for this moment. Well guess what, wait no more because you have already seen the topics. That's right, within the paragraph you have just read the topic is listed. You must find it by yourself. If by Sunday your game is not about that topic, then you're out....

Man I have to stop cracking corny April Fool's Jokes. Ok

So for a little last minute reminder, go http://www.flashkit.com/board/showth...hreadid=623339 for an update on all the rules.

As for the uploading system, you can upload it on your own site or use http://swc.jagopth.com/fk/. Note that by using the latter, you must change the name of your file each time you upload and then contact swcAndrew at the end to tell him which one to choose for you.

    And now the topic

Ok this year the topic is..............Business Through The Ages.

Now before you all freak out and be like: What the heck!??!, let me explain. Your task for this year's competition is to come up with a game that will reflect any time period you want and will have an outcome of a "Product". That means that you must successfully show what time period it is (ex: dinosaurs is pretty obvious so go around a jungle theme) and your game must show the production of an object. So for example, you are a caveman collecting a rocks and sticks to make Stone Axes. You would show the caveman walking through, collecting these things and then maybe assembling them. (Just a suggestion). You have to show that in the end, something was produced. So don't make a space shooter and say...well he produced gun shots because that won't do. However, collecting pieces and assembling a big robot will. So use your own judgement to see that your game is a bit of a business(you don't need money or anything, just show the production of a product in a given period of time). That being said, you have 48 hours. This message will self-destruct. Goodluck!

    D

    Guidelines:

-Somewhere in your game, something must be produced in the game.

-Enough clues should be shown to represent your time period.

-Use your imagination. Use birds to power a windmill that will turn gears to make electricity. Product: Electricy.Time Period: Erm.....make it an old windmill with a suit of armor next to it and a thatched roof. Get the idea?

Hey beatcow, can we use images gotten from the internet?

It depends, sure if its Royalty Free but it's illegal to take images from other sites without permission. I'm not the one whos gonna come after you, but you are technically going against the law. However, if you have permission, I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to do it, except it will decrease your chance or winning for originality.
