desperate - stone age mac test needed

    http://www.testplug.be/immogra

I'm going nuts here. I got this site working in all browsers: fireFox, IE, Safari and Netscape. It works fine on Mac and Windows platform too. Now it just happens to be my client runs IE 5.0 on OS 9 with flashplayer 5 installed. It seems to be the only combination where the site fails. All he gets when visiting the url is a black screen.

I tried everything now even putting up a flashcheck but stil... nada.

Could you kind people please visit this site (Mac users) and tell me what you see. Please print your specifications too.

    Thank you in advance.

//I'm especially looking for people with the flashplayer 5 installed since that's the only way to check wether the plugincheck works or not.

What version do you export as?

Its probably the Flash player version.

    Here it loads fine.

    OS 9.1 Flash Player 7 IE 5.0

Hi, thank you for testing. I've exported as flashplayer 6, actionscript 2.0.

I'm glad to hear it works on IE 5.0 cause that eliminates the browser incapability.

If I now find someone with a flashplayer 5.0 I'll be a very happy boy. :-)

AS 2 only works for Flash Player 7.

Thought so too. But when exporting it as flashplayer 6 with actionscript 2.0, flash acts as if nothing is wrong with that.

    Strange.

Flash Player 6 supports AS2 as well, but not completely. You're better of assuming 7 if you're using AS2.

Why not just have your client install the newest version of Flash Player? Seems like a huge hassle make all kinds of changes because 1% or less of the market is on OS9 w/ Flash Player 5.

I know, I got it working on every possible combinateion of platform/browser/flashplayer.

But how does it make you look if you send the url and it ain't working. Guess my credibility has got a huge punch there.

Anyway, gonna talk him into more recent browser/flashplayer. Not sure if that will fix anythin tho.

ps damn Microsoft for putting so little effort into explorer on mac. why not just ban the whole thing than?

    Thanx anyway for checking.

Why not have a Flash version check ( most pages have one ) and tell them they use a 4 year old player with a link to the newest player..

I had a flash check on. Alltho it wasn't accurate and only worked on PC platforms.

Any pointer to the most decent flashcheck. Mine was Moocks but made the Mac freeze.
