Why cant i create a shape tween?

Hi. I am following a tutorial right now and looking for help. I did everything that the tutorial told me to basically, but my animation goes blank straight through the middle. It acts as if I just drew the shape in the last frame and didn't press f6 when i play back, but I totally did.

I am using an older version of Flash btw. Flash 8.
All feedback is appreciated of course.
