'Space Quest'/'King's Quest' type of character movement?

    Heya'.

I'm psuedo-new to ActionScript, and I'm currently making a game in Flash MX. There's only one thing that's standing in my way at the moment; character movement.

Can anyone either tell or link me to a tutorial on how to make a character whose movement is governed by where the player clicks?

Either that, or a MC that can move with a walk animation (facing the moving direction) using the keyboard.

    Thanks in advance.

    hi,

i developped a proto where a character can move 4 directions top, right , bottom and left using the arrow keys ~

bleh ~ but the thing is when the collision detection is met with one of the 4 walls
my character comes to a halt ~

for that i need to write a better code ~

here is the current fla which am working on ~

Ah, crap.. any chance you can save it as a MX file, rather than MX2004?

    Thanks!
