newbie questions!!

Hello I'm quite new to XML, my main question is that, is it possible import xml from a link like cnet NEWS.com into my website, I mean use their xml file and also have a news page in my site? do i need to have to download the xml file and have it on my server or no i can refrence it and use it?

my other question is, is it better to keep data in xml or a database like mysql, does xml also have any insert, modify delete options?

2. both is ok, but mysql is probably the better solution.
