    ever hacked your PDA?

so I'm majorly bored, and stuck with an iPaq 2215 that isn't on the upgrade list to Windows Mobile 5.0.

So I'm wondering... any of you ever put a different OS on your PDA or something? I don't mean game emulation, or something similar.

But outright hacked it and changed it?

I've found iPaq Linux but nothing really heavy duty.

I once used my PalmIIIx as a paperweight, does that count?

It was useless at that too.

considering what I'm thinking... yeah, that counts.

found this though... and I'm curious enough *read: bored to try it.

You know what would be cool? Using one of the third-party swf2exe proggies that supports PocketPC projectors and making your own flash-based PDA. (Though technically running on top of WinCE or whatever's on there.)

I think Zinc might have enough to handle it.

Ever seen gModeler? It'd be cool to walk around showing nerds your 'Dedicated Portable UML Modeling Device'. Maybe even get something like the FlashOS gskinner has running it to operate on a PocketPC.

Or, use that to turn it into a dedicated reference device. Load it up with the help XML files Flash and DW use.

Just a thought. If it works I get 30% of the proceeds for being the 'idea man.'

it's most likely because it's a PDA I want to hack? Ever thought of that?

I mean. Yeah. I guess I really meant phone when I said PDA. Dumb me.

    iPaq. Phone. Interchangeable. Totally.

    Literally?

Anyone remember a LONG time ago when I took the footage of myself dismantling [hammer, screwdriver] an old palm? The old ones were nearly indestructable.

I don't know... but I am about to do something drastic to my daughters iPod mini though.

I get an exclaimation point next to an iPod icon.
I can't put it into disc mode.
She says she might have spilled something on it or her cousin dropped it

And yea, by iPod mini I mean eight-track cassette player
