php and flash question

I was wondering if someone could give me an answer and then point me to a link, or tell me how to preform this task

I'm building a website that has a main navigation and a sidebar navigation. On the sidebar the client now wants it to be flash. i know my way around flash a ... fair bit... fair... but actionscript is something i'm still getting into

So i was wondering, if i build a page in php, is it possible to have the animations change to each link clicked?

example, a person standing in the sidebar, his shirts changes colours when you click into the different links of the main navigation, which is php code )not flash)

is it possible?
