    MASKS - why why why

    Hi all

Why don't masks containing multiple objects work?

If I have on my mask layer a graphic symbol containing several animated shapes, only one will be used at a time as the mask.

is there a way to work arround this without making a seperate mask for each object?

    Thanx!

I'm not completely certain, but you could try nesting them in movie clips?? having a little trouble with masks myself at the moment. Good Luck!! You've probably read this already, but if u haven't it's quite useful. http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash...=00000337.html

    Hi
Have your animated graphics on seperate layers within a movieclip.....not a graphic..

    nopes that wont work

    heres the structure :

mask layer : mc containing 3 mc's on seperate layers (each on containing a small inanimate shape)
maskd layer : a big shaper

when i publish or lock the layers, only one of the 3 mcs (the lower one) is used as the mask.

it is the same thing if i put all 3 mcs directly on the mask layer instead of in one containing mc.

Which version of flash do you have? and what version of the player do you publish for? Masks with several sepparet objects wasn't possible until Flash MX (Player 6).

Also make sure that the shapes that doesn't work isn't lines.
