    [GAME] Looking for C.C

    Heres a game I had made, the one I was talking about that was based off an old computer game I used to spend hours on . I was hoping to get it licensed but I wasn't able to. Here it is:

    I'm looking for constructive critiscism I don't really want people to come in and say oh thats nice I need information about my weak points, and yes my strong points, but mostly my weak ones so I can learn and improve from this.

    it needs music and sound effects. The menu could also use buttons, and It goes kinda slow sometimes. You should also be able to rotate the gun a little faster.

    EDIT:I just realized that on imageshack you really cant have music. Sorry

    okay here goes. I thought it looked pretty good, but I didn't like how you could just hold spacebar down the entire time. Also, you die by having planes make it across the screen? That shouldn't hurt you at all, and so then I ask, why do you get health crates? Also you get points for picking up crates? Why crates? Whew... I'm sick of being critical, it takes it out of me. Keep up the good work!

    Not bad, graphics could use a bit of polishing, the gun could be sped up, and more powerups could be added (speed up, speed down, 1 hit kill etc) Also the controls are a little hard, i know it cant really be helped, but i found it difficult to play. Its ok though, if you did all these things then it would be a nice little game.

    R1TAl1N: I never had a chance to test it on a computer other than my 2.8ghz one so thank you for pointing that out, I'll have to be conscious of that next time.

    TheLostGuru: Being critical is good :P As for the crates that was a lack of originality, and the it hurts you because your supposed to be defendiong the city and your its only defense so once they get past you it hurts you(lol again lack of creativity ). And as for the space bar should I have made so you had to tap it?

    [EDIT]Too many grammar errors above to fix lol.
    Alillm: I think I might do that and make a version 2 taking all the things you guys say and make it better. I like the idea of extra crates with powerups. You can edit the controls, but I think I'll take the time to find the best and easiest way to use it.

    weak points:
    - explosions and gfx could be improved (background most of all)
    - as R1TAL1N said, music and sound fx but that's not your fault as I see
    - sometimes there are too many enemies

    strong points:
    - it's fun
    - it's addictive
    - changing the weapons is a cool feature
    - new enemies in higher levels is also cool
    - at first it's a bit difficult to control it but after a while of playing it's much easier
    - don't think the spacebar should be tapped, it's ok like that, really

    Also, for the lack of creativity thing (lol, I don't think so, I found it very original), maybe you could make the airplanes crash against a tower that you defend or something, or maybe make them drop missiles over you to decrease your energy.

    I dont think the space bar should be tapped, just have an ammo thing which takes a few seconds to reload. That way you will need to spend your "shooting time" more wisely.

    Phobik: Definitly will put more time into the graphics although im not that good at graphics. And I will try and find a better way of controlling the number of enemys

    it's a good game i think the guys pretty much covered everything maybe you could have ground units that focus on attacking you and you could have two life bars one the city's life and one your life which makes the game alittle more challenging.
    aqua corpse he's a really cool guy...

    Some nice parallax scrolling would make it look much better (whenever tank moves move the city by half and background by quarter). Also, make the clouds move and sometimes the enemies could be behind the clouds so you dont see them clearly.

    I feel it has too many buttons to press - moving, turning, firing. Have you tried to make it mouse controlled? Move with mouse, press mouse to fire, 2 keys to turn turret.

    u can hold down the space bar... u dont have to tap it... other then that... i ditto everyone elses comments...

    There's one other thing that should be changed; I think you should only get the crates when the tank touches them not when the lights of the tank touch them.

    I have already started working on the next version things for sure to be changed:

    -Reload Time will be implemented
    -Parallax Scrolling as suggested by TonyPa, and most likely the cloud idea to.
    -Controls will be changed to include the mouse.
    -Graphics on almost everything will be re-worked.
    -Day Time & Night Time
    -Possibly multiple city's that will be based on real city's
    -Powerups
    -Optimized Code
    -The crate touching thing mentioned by Xploder

    Considering:
    -The ground units
    -2 health bars

    Well as you can see I'm gonna be busy

    how about making it shoot with the mouth click and the turret follows the mouse
