My third completed site and porfolio!

    Hi there,

I have just completed my third ever web site and my second portfolio site, so please could I have some feedback on how it looks and works.

    http://www.jh2o.biz/

I am currently aware of a problem with my music jukebox and am in the process of correcting this, so prepare for a stuttering text scroller!

As I am just opening my design studio I have not yet added any clients to be portfolio so I am affriad that is currently empty, although I am now working on my first client site which will be added in the next few weeks.

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to comment, but please only post constructive feedback.

Kind regards and all the best,

    Jason Pickford

    Iceman,
Site is slick and contemporary. Only comment I'd make is the font seems a bit on the small side.
    Cheers

Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated.I know what you mean about the font size. Its a bit difficult getting it right because I have used pixel fonts which look great in a flash project but have to be used at the exact size of 8px or multiples, which means you either have to choose a font thats a bit too small or way too big.

Thanks though, and I do agree.Just not sure what to do about it really.I have many pixel fonts and all seem a bit small to me.

All the best and good luck with your site.

Never been a huge fan of pic of business men looking pleased with themselves on websits.
It has potential for sure but has to be stripped of the cheese.

Lol, I can appreciate your comments about the business men!

However, I am aiming at a more cooperate/contemporary market and I would have thought ( or hoped at least ) that my images would convey that and even appeal to those potential clients.

Thanks for the feedback, and to be honest I am not a great fan of the business men images really, but business comes first.

    All the best,

looks good. only thing (sorry to go back to the text), is that on the navigation. the "Home" is very clear. but at full scale the "portfolio" text is very blurry? i would definitely work on that.

    looks great man.

    Hi there,

I seem to have a real problem with the fonts used on my main nav bar. They are pixel fonts and are positioned exactly as described in the user guides, yet "home" and "services" seem to stand out much more than the other options? I am not sure what is wrong with them and how to correct it.I have tried re-positioning them and nothing works.

Thanks for pointing that out though and thanks for the "constructive and fair " feedback.Your mock up photo with the business men was also highly amusing, should I change that for the one on my site?

    Kind regards,

I want to punch that smug suited guy in the face! The branding of the splash page bears little or no relation to the main site and your choice of stock imaging (homepage) is way off the mark. The design of the main page is not too bad. Perhaps over designed with a few too many cliches. Suggest you try and simplify the layout and ditch the two suit on your homepage.

Well, thanks to anyone who took the time to actually read my post and give constructive feedback about my site, it is greatly appreciated and very useful.

As for everyone else, well I like to think that I am above leaving the type of comments and feedback that some of you have left, kind of reminds me of being back at primary school when I was 10 years old.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback but with regard to the above comment.

My business is called j-h2o as in water, as in clear. My splash page contains images of water drops and colours used on my main site. My main page also contains various images of water, so I don't really see how the splash page does not in any way relate to the main page.

As for the stock photos. I am not aiming my site at pleasing web designers, I am aiming it at the client who think in terms of business and not just ultra trendy designs. Now as I already said in one of my earlier posts, I am not keen on photos of business men either. However, on this occasion I felt the images were more than appropriate for the type of client that I am trying to attract. At the end of the day you can never please everyone anyway,so you have to choose whats right for you and your own company at the time.

Remember that this is only the 3rd web site I have ever made, so it is not going to be perfect.

    Regards,
