    Photoshop and Flash graphic opinion

    Greetings - When I create graphics or text in photoshop, save as jpg, then import into flash, it turns blurry and jagged. I make sure to save in photoshop "best quality" setting, yet when it is imported into flash, hurts the eyes...

    in your opinion - what is the best way to...

    1. import graphics into flash
    2. render text in flash. do you ever import text in jpg's or just leave blank and use flash to fill in text.

    many thanks.

    I usually make all texts in flash. Using the gradient tool and sometimes make gradients on the outlines of text to get a somewhat beveled feel.

    Some images are blurry in Flash when the movie is more than one frame, as Flash then skips the best quality setting. Having ....

    _quality="BEST";

    ..on the first frame can help.

    If you get "banding" on smoth areas in jpg,s you can try and set the size of the image to 99% or have it inside a movieclip with alpha 99%. Or have a transparent shape ( alpha 0 ) on top of the image.

    For sharpness you can try and save as png-24 ( that also supports 256 levels of transparency ) and use in Flash as Lossless ( png-gif ).
