    Themed Photography :: Week 22 :: FLASH

    Some people love 'em, other hate 'em (ME!!!). It's time to get a grip with your flashing (keep the overcoats closed please...).

    Let's show Flash Kit what FLASH means in photography.

    Use this week's theme creatively and let's see those photos!!

    As always, the Ru|3z:
    • This is NOT a PhotoShop battle it is a photography battle. Only slightly touched up photos may be submitted.
    • Let's keep the file and image size under FK guidelines (under 750 px wide).
    • All photographs must be related to the current weekly theme.
    • Photographs must be taken by the idividual posting (no stealing photos).
    • Use any camera (ie. cellphone, point-and-shoot, disposable) just submit!
    • Multiple submission are welcomed.
    • Photos must be no more than a week old. Take some NEW pictures people!

    Have fun, get creative, post as often as you like.

    I assume it's okay to mix a first/second curtain flash technique with a sloe shutter speed?

    Well I dont have a SB 600 or 800 for my D70 yet , so I gave this a try. After the lights were off in the fish tank, set the camera to 1/2sec shutter speed and held an old flash over the tank, hit the shutter release and then fired the flash with my other hand. getto fab!

    i think you need to be more specific with how you want creative flash photos, EVP. When i read it, i thought...well, i use flash with my photos...whats the problem, unless i'm in front of a window? THen i see bob post something that was HOW he used a special flash technique. For some of us who have only in-camera flash, we're a bit limited on how to creative use flash? I don't know, it's just my thought.

    Nothing fancy...will try to get something more "artsy" later

    Just used the flash to lighten up the scene in the beginning of a 15 second exposure

    Photoshoot in a cemetary a few months ago with some kids from college.

    Kinda funny, in the first pic that towbstone all the way to the left we have a picture of the left side of that and there is no "orbs" they just stop right at that one...maybe the ghost are afraid to pass it...puhha
