If I had a good camera I would join in more of these...
why do good DSLR's have to cost me my leg and half my arm...

maybe if you weren't so worried about an LCD on your box, you might be able to afford one
BAH! I am just researching for small projects. A Canon XT or 20D is top priority right now.
And that thread is about as far from lcd's as possible

click HERE for a side by side comparison of the 20D and 300D. first of all, as a 300D owner, i can easily tell the difference between EVP's images and mine - talent aside. it has a better sensor (i think) and more megapixels. it's set up like a true pro camera from canon - controller and display in a different location. it's also metal, not plastic like the 300D - and it's all black (that's just a preference). more FPS is a good thing as well. i just should have gone with it, as it's not much more money.
Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences. Blog ¤ Photos ¤ Book
Just a few of the differences that sold me on the 20D
20D - 5 fps up to 23 images; Max Shutter speed 1/8000; ISO 3200
XT - 2.8 fps up tp 14 images; Max Shutter speed 1/4000; ISO 1600
I can grab my camera with the power off and start firing away immidiately, it has a .2 second startup time (yes, that's two tenth's of a second). The XT should be similar though.
My attempt at a driving photo.. This is a stable that is next door to my workplace.. got lucky and a few horses where out.. Which made me want to stop and take photos.. too much traffic though.
took this on tuesday night on the way home from work.
M5 was shut due to a massive accident so everyone had to go the scenic route home.
took me 3 hours to do a 30 minute journey - watched the sunset here for a good 45 mins or so.
