The first two are great. I especially like the second one and how those lines in the field on the left look and the greenery and few trees above it.

I think those are amazing too.
I really like the color in #2
    DOF in #4

A question for everyone else in here. It happens to me too sometimes. See the haze at the top of the first one. Would a lens hood help to reduce that type of over exposure on top? or would a gradient-type filter be better?

Or is that really the way it should look?

great stuff carly - very rich! all of them have excellent composition. #1 and #3 have some haze which is affecting the palette a bit. and it may just be me, but none of them seem that 'crisp'. this could be your camera though, as they seem to be in focus. have you tried using a little 'unsharpen mask' on them?

Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences.

Very nice carly, I would like to see some better focus on the side of that hay bail in #4, but still it is very nice. I just can't choose a favorite, they are all good.

A lens hood would help in a case like #3 where the sky gets a little overexposed (which I like), but not in #1.....go filter there

A hood will only block so much light, where you have a small slither along the top as in #3

In #1 the sky takes up a fair 1/5 of the image

i hadn't really noticed that. in fact i couldn't really see it until i just started playing around with the unsharp mask, and yeah you are right- they could be crisper. never used that before- t'is good to know.. thank you

    Hey Carly,

nice shots, especially the first one.

maybe one idea is to try similar shots the first sign of blue sky after its been raining...hay is horrible for dust and some rain will clear the air and help make the picture, especially the sky, more crisp...at least that's my theory of what would happen
