Yeah I wonder what kinda agreement you have to sign or use or whatever to get one of these? I mean you ARE buying the device you only have to give it back if you want them to rip you off more by taking it back and charging you $12.99 to put it on a $.05 dvd

Hacking IS modifying things to make them do other things.

Hacking is too loose of a term these days
Hacking really means a person who knows a lot about computers and "tinkers" with them to make them do what they want.
The media killed it with all these l33t script kiddies, and they needed to be called something.

Yes! Where is my banning stick?
Seriously though... its bound to be breaking some law as you are changing the way in which the thing works for your own gain.
Depends what you sign when you buy it I guess...
Best not post any hacking links here though, or the FK legal hounds will get you!

If you had just said "You can mod it to keep reusing it too" then nobody would have said boo.
Seriously tho, there is no agreement that you sign when you purchase it.
It's just a disposable camera like every other disposable camera.

Longer Definition of a Hacker; (thank you wikipedia)
In computer programming, hacker means a programmer who hacks or reaches a goal by employing a series of modifications to exploit or extend existing code or resources.
In computer security, hacker translates to a person able to exploit a system or gain unauthorized access through skill and tactics. This usually refers to a black hat hacker.
In other technical fields, hacker is extended to mean a person who makes things work beyond perceived limits through their own technical skill, such as a hardware hacker, or reality hacker.

Thats probably a good idea. I don't think modification is illegal unless your specifically told not todo it in a user agreement or something. For example, your XBOX. You can mod it, the only thing you lose is the ability to have it repaired by M$. As far as I know, its perfectly legal untill somebody uses that to copy games to the hard drive. Then its illegal.
As with everything, there are grey areas. Then the black and white ones.
