    hit counters in portfolios

Is it ok to use a hitcounter on a portfolio site? On one side you can see about how many people have been to your site and seen your stuff. On the other side
it seems a bit unprofessional. What do you guys think?

i'd never put a counter on a site. its so 90's....

if you want to see how many people have been to your site, look at your stats. most hosting accounts include webalizer or something similar

For the record, I agree with Bill... Not only are hit-counters "old", they can also be a very bad testimonial for your site, especially if the numbers are low.
