I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

Animation seems a little choppy and I'm on a pretty good PC. Might want to up the FPS a bit. All else seems hunky-dorey!

I actually tried upping the FPS an believe it or not, it looked a lot choppier when I did....Is there anything else I can do that would help the choppiness. As far as I can tell it only looks choppy in FPlayer 8

well I think its "OK"... the layout looks like your typical, simple html site with flash banner. not an insult...just not "WOW"ing..

    couple of things:

1.) why so big?..the width is 900px?? wow.. forget all the 8x6 'ers huh?

2.) the "banner" is alsmot too big..very overpowering, and take attention way form the content of the sites. I always think the natural focal point should be the content.

3.) content pages coudl use some 'spice' I knwo you said it was complete yet..so maybe this is to come still? but I woucl use some blues & reds to high light content or or section titles.. some CSS and imagery would be best to dress up your content... the white page with black text takes away from the site..

I thought about this for a while and decided that people don't use 800x600 anymore...and if they do, they have issuse. I took a web design class in college recently and they said that the new standard was 1024x768. Is this not true?

I agree with this to an extent but at least I talke the firm into allowing me to remove the Flash banner from the top of all the pages with content. I don't know how much more they'll let me do.

I agree with you 100% on this...I am trying to add more spice to the content but failing pretty miserably...I have never really been good at that but i'll keep playing with it.

    Thanks for the advice.

you have the idea on how to do and design the site... you can always reduce the text and even the photo of it to make it more simple and nice in the eyes...cheers

I agree with all the comments so far.

The banner is big and the animation is choppy. The entrance on that big dark blue part at the top is horrendous. It looks ok once it's in though.

I couldn't care less about width because I'm a proponent of pushing the resolution issue a little. That being said, you don't really get to claim progressiveness unless your site is progressive. And this my friend, is not.

The white content parts are pretty bad. Some organization would make a huge difference. Put some real solid work into the layout of the text and images and stuff, get out of these super-wide paragraphs, make some tables, make everything aligned with something else...I think you'll start liking what you see a lot more.

In a content-heavy site like this, smaller is better. Making things huge and dominating just emphasizes how much text there really is. Break it up into some sequential pages, and make some columns. NOT like a newspaper, that's annoying as hell, I just mean break up that horizontal space a little. Maybe put your navigation down the side rather than across the top...? I've seen people use a light grey bar down the right side that is totally empty and it looks great because it's something to organize the "white" space. Maybe you could carry those images from the top into a blank grey bar with a faint image as it's background. Classy, understated, and does the job...yes, no?

I disagree with content being the focal point, I think a nice banner graphic can go a long way, but this one needs some tweaking at best.

    Sorry for the rant.
