Hi, monstermash, personnaly I think it's fine. Maybe, a set focus on the name in the contact section. Good continuation.

well, I find it light in deed, maybe cause of the LCD screen of the laptop.
also I prefer you first background than the others.

Your navigation isn't too light. But I think your logo is a bit too light and too small. Your logo is nice and classy and it shouldn't be hiding like that. I also like how you display your portfolio. Overall you have a very nice site.
