    too dark?

Hello everyone! I have the beginnings of my new portfolio listed here:
    www.nickgrobe.com

I am looking at it on my work computer and it just looks super dark to me, particularly the stuff below ground (you will see what i mean).

I cant believe that my monitor at home would vary so much and I would like to believe that monitor at home is more reliable than this one.

Can you please take a look and see how it is on your monitor. It is dark to begin with, but there is detail that shouldnt be totally lost. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

I think it is too dark. I totally cannot see the text on the right.

I cannot see the text either so make the text slightly lighter

    But

I really love this site so far, so original this is what I really want to see in a site originality without loosing navigation etc so really gr8 work looks gr8 just a really good concept.

i does look a bit dark (here at work) but it is hard to tell by just seeing the swf. context really makes a difference so when it is placed in an html page and all the visual elements are in place you should be able to get a much better idea.

i have a mac and a pc at work that both have very nice monitors and all my stuff usually looks very crisp and nice and lighter on them, but on my slightly older pc monitor at home everything is a bit dark.
    context is everything is relative

I really like the idea of the grave and underground. I have a high resolution Toshiba Laptop, and it looked good on it. I'd have to agree that it may "seem" to look different once in an actual html page.

I website with an emotional respose - fab. Simple little animation detail makes it. I like the green and orange too.

I am using a high res hp laptop screen, PC, in a pitch black room, and i can only just make out the text.

Should the navigation work, because it doesn't for me_?

Thanks again for the feedback so far! I am definately going to work on it more. "Zebra" - No the navigation doesnt work yet. Its just something I kinda put in there to make it feel a bit more complete.

OK.. so I have lightened it up a bit, and finally put in a gallery of some of my work..How obvious is the navigation? ie: the lever once the gallery comes up.. I realize that I need to make a rollover or something on the "work" link to make it more obvious

Hey - it's me again! I was hoping you had an update of your site - It's an interesting one to follow.

Unsure if it's something to do with me - but, the underground interface is set to drag so i can't actually click on anything... I feel like the buttons are running away from me.... Also - the above ground design is so interesting and unique - I think the loader should reflect that.

Hey, like everyone said, I think you have a great idea and have communicated it well. I really enjoy the small movements (blade of grass & leaves). Its also cool how the grass changes to that green abstract thing, makes it more erie. For some reason the lever did not work my first try and I lost my cursor when I clicked it the 2nd time. I think your preloader for "work" and "concept" has more of a playfull haloween feel that does not match the rest of the site. Good luck with it. Top looks awsoem!

Thanks for the comments.. Yeah, im getting some bugs with the navigation.. As for the lower half in general.. I agree with you guys.. I feel like I kind of "half assed" some of the stuff on the bottom.. Im just kinda waiting for some inspiration.
