    Supporting older versions...

I upgraded to Flash 8, well for 30 days at least. I was making a flash based website to see the new features, but as far as I knew, I didn't use anything or do anything I haven't used or done in MX or 6.0, but when I try to export/publish compatible with 6.0, I get the following -

WARNING: This movie uses features that are not supported in the Flash 6 player
Symbol=preloader, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Enhanced stroke is not supported in this player

I know the symbol, it is a simple rectangle shape tweened over 100 frames, used to run a preloader mc. I made it the same as before, and it always worked in 6.0 before; so how do I get this to be compatible with the older versions?

I am assuming it automatically did something 'behind the scenes' which caused this error . . . is there some way I can turn that feature off, and if so, what all will it affect?

    Thanks!

[edit] by the way, the error message I get is of course about 100 lines longer than that, but all of the lines are the same as the second, repeated about 100 times I think.[/edit]

In the shapes you probably have "Stroke hinting" checked. Uncheck it for Flash6.

If your movie does not contain anything from Flash8 then try saving it as MX2004 fla and reopen. That should get rid of all "Enhanced strokes".
