Where to find or make background music?

    Hello,
I've visited the sound loop section here but couldn't find anything that fit well for what I needed. I need to make up a little track that I can use for someone's interior design website. I remember some program that even the non artist could use to combine tracks from a library to make up their own original score. I think it was targeted toward movie makers but thought it might work good for this. I didn't want to use anything copywrited. Anyone got any suggestions of this prog or something else I could use. Is classical music copywrited?

    TIA

    Blair

All music is copyrighted, including classical music.
Your best bet is either to get someone to write the music for you and buy the rights off them, or make your own.

If you have Propellorheads Reason, you can make some music with that. Takes time to get used to it but its good for music production and you dont need any midi keyboards or stuff for basic music creation.
    Its not free thuogh.

    Blair,

Apple's Soundtrack program is designed to allow non-musicians to create passable scores. It'll may well suit your needs fine if all you need is a simple background bed. Hope this helps.

FLStudio 5 if you need another program.

You can download the demo, which is fully functional (does everything), but you cant save your projects. You can however export it into a .wav or .mp3

All the above programs are excellent too, give FLStudio a try.
