    Not shutting down the proper way...

    How much damage will it do to my PowerMac G4 if I don't shut down the computer properly for 6 or 7 times this month???

    (The electricity was out several times with my computer still on...)

    really it won't do any damage to your hardware, unless your in the middle of a firmware upgrade or somthing similar.. you may have some software issues after a while, but a quick fix of your permissinos should take care of that.

    and.. dropping $40 on a battery backup prolly wouldn't be a bad idea

    what if my idiot younger brother who does not shut down proprerly for 1 whole month??? is my mac still ok???

    It's not a good idea.
    When you shutdown, the computer performs some cleanup operations on your disk, makes sure files are closed, stops processes that may be doing things to files etc.
    Not doing this will result in corruption of files or important information on the disk.
