Open Battle : New vs Pro

Hi everyone !


I always gave reviews to arena images , and I've decided to join the battle. I've made my first arena image.I don't care : a noob or a pro as "enemy" , in the arena theres no winner , right ? I'd like it when much people join this battle.

Rules:
------
The usual rules. I like abstract images so maybe use them more.I will devide the images in opposite pairs like : evil and good , fire and water/ice.
I started with Life.
Keep the image size +- like mine if you can ... I'm not gonna be mad when you post a image with some pixel difference...
When you join this battle , talk about who's next after someone started a new pair or "answered" a image like discribed above.

This is gonna be fun !

I think you should post some rules though, just so that who ever desides to take this on knows whats happening?
This could be quite a cool abstract battle.

Are you looking for just one opponent? I suggest as this is your first battle you limit it to one person. However, like natsia said, you should edit your first post with some rules including image size, possible theme (if any), rotation rules, elements that need to be taken.

Nice rules, I think having this as an open battle of opposites is quite cool.
I'm not too keen on doing anything today, might drop in when I have some energy

But I didn't meant you have to give an image with both the opposites.Only 1 element. And I will volley with the opposite.I made something about life & you volley with death.Then you (or someone else) searches for the next pair.It's not a problem you misunderstood.I like the image !!

It's like person A-B-B-A-A-B-B-A-A-B-B-A-A-B-B-....

It's OK but it wasn't really clear.Maybe thats just me beiing stupid.I'm gonna make a new pair

Critique? On the far right I can see the edge of the canvas; should have blended that, as well as the lower left corner.

I'm not a fan of filters, but overall it's done very well. The text... the middle line is much brighter - dropping it from pure white to off-white would have worked in your favor.

There's a few other things that could have been cleaned up, such as around the middle; however it's damn good.

Eagle... there's plenty of other open battles. There's about 3-4 total that's ongoing not getting any attention. Perhaps joining one of those?

Thanks Gerbs. I totally see what you mean about cleaning up a little bit. I'm still pretty new to this sort of thing, so I'm just going to fix those little things and update the picture.

You mentioned that you weren't a friend of filters, but I only used one... Is that generally too much for an image? Bear in mind that I've only been doing this sort of thing since I started that battle with Natsia, so I really want all the knowledge I can get.

Edit: I fixed a few things and updated the image. Better?

naw... I tend to use only blur or noise for filter wise... I thought I saw some liquify in there. But I'm quite old-school when it comes down to a lot of things... feel free to ignore me.

Gotcha, naw, the only filter I used was polar coordinates on Eagle's image (my element). The rest is gaussian blur layers with soft-light blending.

I agree 100% with gerbs. You should just keep this at one or 2 opponents. I think it'd be more interesting.
