Cool... theres nothing of interest on google video, but its cool all the same Hopefully indie artist types will embrace it and fill it with great alternative content!

The problem with video I think is two-fold. 1; visually the medium demands attention, its essentially more participatory than music. 2: computationally video requires a lot of CPU and memory to look good, relatively to MP3 where almost any comp with a decent sound card can play.

Has anyone here tried watching videos on those tiny ipod screens? Holy crap it sucks, and isn't even the correct ratio. People will buy them of course because apple has the clout to get the content up, which is great, the fact that tv episodes are going up will revolutionise the way we watch content far faster than tv on demand over cable will.

Hopefully apple will launch a usable video player soon, or people and content providers will realise there are other much better players and outlets.

The ability to download it in iPod format is another kick in the balls for apple

There's a good article in Business 2.0 about how they think.
Basically everything from their over-all goals to their day to day operations are broken down to a 70/20/10 split. 70% of time spent on the company, 20% developing new products and 10% researching new ventures.

Well they didn't think too hard about the video store. It blows.

Yeah they are paying a ton for a crappy service. I hope they smooth it out more and get way more content up.

I knew it was out a long time ago. But they are adding "content" to go against the itunes store and has "ipod and psp" support so that is making it back into the news.
