I can understand why it was by invitation only.

Yeah i understand the private sign up thing...thats cool. I was just kind of curious as to why i wasnt considered. I threw down against DQS last time and was excited about their proposal around the Holidays, so i've been practicing my lens flare, and even downloaded the latest trial version of Terragen.

There, i did my whining, i feel better now. Not like i ever battle much anymore anyway

Is it just me or am I sensing a little blood amoung the Fk'ers with letting other forums partake of the rollCanvas goodness? When I made first thought of the idea, I'm pretty sure I mentioned that it would be great if it caught on with other forums, and that became a popular PStennis game; and this is a great way to share the concept! I don't see any problem with throwing down with another forum at all...

Could you imagine if one day there was a book written about it, like the PStennis books?

I agree with Gerbick... I can understand that private invitations fetches much more reliable players than regular 'count me in!' posts... I think the problem people are having is that a lot of FK'ers wanted to play and don't get the chance... especially since the game is not as well known on other forums and therefore wouldnt attact as many players, making the FK team much bigger than DQS's.

I'm down with opening another Rollcanvas here on FK. Only players that are sure they can get a volley submitted need apply. I don't mind who hosts, as long as they'll stick around from start to finish and moderate. I'm available for the role if need be, but I think the throne should be someone elses for a change...

Naw nords, everybody representing FK has the skill to do it. By no means did i mean that our team was weak. I understand not everybody can be in the battle, we just have too many talented artists here, so you go ahead and throw down against DQS. You earned it, you old grizzled vet you.

To be honest guys, i dont care. I thought this was going to be a fun way to battle with DQS but if all it has produced is a 2 page thread of you guys complaining. Ive always tried to get as many people in to battles as I can but apparenlty I messed up this time. So why doesnt someone take my spot as well.

Hell, I didnt even take place in the March Madness battle last year because I gave my spot up to someone else who wanted in.

Enough with the complaints. Community battles - I've been in pretty much each and every one of them for FK from the first one versus Were-Here before the Arena existed to now - are always better suited to the people that have the time.

We've got a crazy collection of members here, but let's be honest. You all have lives outside of the Arena - it's friggin' dead right now in the Arena with (some) new activity. The people in that short list don't necessarily represent anything other than they represent who responded and filled up the line-up, which is quite small if you look at it.

Personally, it's not about "preference" or none of that... it's about who has the time. And who got picked out of that list, I can just say it's awesome they said yes.

There will be a concurrently running rollcanvas - I'd love to have TheWaste involved for that community version because he's headed up the others without a hitch - and label that one the true RollCanvas 3.0. The DQS version, the first competition/interforum RollCanvas...

Now, with that said... Team FK, kick some serious butt. The Arena, let's support 'em.
