SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model)

    http://www.adlnet.org/

It's a standard that everyone is supposed to be able to follow that allows training to be portable. . .in other words your SCORM compliant training can be used in any SCORM compliant LMS. That's the short version anyway.

The key word in your post is "supposed".

I'm going to go burn another Saba manual. I'm still trying to figure out if Eric Rosen left them or was fired.

You are attacked by a 2 foot goat.

Goral, why the sad face? Did you not enjoy the experience or vise versa.

did e-learning in various capacities for health care and the US federal govt for a while, don't do it anymore. definitely a good launching pad around the dc area for a well-heeled tech/multimedia career, but no longer for me...

The next gen standard is going to be webservices-based. AICC is already starting to break ground. Makes sense since everything is going that way, it eliminates cross-domain scripting issues, and can support SCORM 1.2, 2004 and AICC content without making changes.

    I've been in e-learning since 1999 - dropped CBT authoring tools for Flash in late 99/early 2000. Since then, I've built SCORM-conformant e-learning (both 1.2 & 2004), upgraded a couple of non-SCORM courses to SCORM 2004.

CBT authoring tools include niche software developed solely for the creation of computer-based training. Examples might include Authorware, Quest, etc...

Good afternoon! I've just started with Flash and look to use it to create a software simulation test of our company's core business application. By the looks of some of these posts here, perhaps a few of you might be able to help me get pointed in the proper direction to accomplish this!

Use one of the help forums when you have a specific question. This forum is for general conversation. Use the Freelance forum if you want to hire any of these fine chaps.

    Stand up and be counted

I'll start by saying that I make my living creating E-Learning content for a software development company. We use a lot of Flash to create the interactive content. We also use HTML, Javascript, CSS, and numerous other technologies to create a big chunk of the training. It's all SCORM compliant.

    Depends on how you count.

555million if you count how many people likes to learn Flash
4 thousand if you count how many experts are there.
600 something million if you count how much learning are done here.
4 billion if you count who wants to learn Flash worldwide
100 something if you count all the nerds.
1 if you just count yourself.
When you actually know what "OMG I have so much homework!" means, you won't want to be me.

    Hi keithroby,

admedia is right, if you have any specific Flash questions you're sure to find help here on Flashkit. Another source for e-Learning questions is LearningProvider.org, the forum linked in my signature.
