There may be no answer to this but Im going to ask anyway If I wanted a background of say, moving flames (like an animated picture of hell or something)... how would I do it within koolmoves?

    Cheers

Not totally sure what your asking. If you make your animation you can put it in a movie clip and put it as the back most element. Or are you asking how to make the background animation.

If theres a way to make it that'd be cool. I was originally thinking of a movie clip in the back ground.. or some kind of animation but as I understand it, animated gif files dont work in koolmoves, am I right?

oooh i think that is easy to answer. Ok but, this might be hard to do.first, you draw a background in one frame, make it extremly short. then draw it over in another position(e.g. for flames have them lean left in one frame, straight in another, and right in a third)you can draw it over and over, or do what i do, add a copy of the three positions in order to the end over and over again. I doubt any1 understands what i mean.and just reposition the characters whenever you need

The answer is to make a separate movie with your flames or whatever and import it into to your main movie,, set it as your background (IE: send to back) and put your other stuff on top.
Or don't import (less cpu usage) but on your first or second frame put.. (load movie "flames.swf") level "whatever is the lowest". Just make sure the flames thing is exactly the same size as the main movie.

Very cool. Odd, though, the "animation" works in Firefox but not in IE6 for some reason.

It's a snippet I gained in my internet travels and twisted till it caught on fire . I'll pack it up and post back. Sorry...I should have from the get go and actually thought I had (getting old).

Give me a bit...I'm remote on my laptop and will add it as soon as I get to the house.

Brilliant, Its like an applet and was exactly what I was looking for but had no idea koolmoves was capable. I await with bated breath(not even sure that sentence makes sense, but I've heard people say it so it must be acceptable)

If it's brilliant, it's thanks to Bob. That's another example of Flash 8 filters and thanks to him.....we have access to all they offer.
