    Lens question

What are your thoughts on a 28-300mm f/3.5?

I don't have a lens with this range, but have heard opinions that a range like that slows autofocus and picture quality.

I have a 70-200mm f/2.8.. Canon lens but so heavy.. so thats why I was looking at the 28-300mm..

    thanks

A zoom always is a compromise compared to a static focal length lense...hope this word is correct!...and a 300/3.5 is too damn heavy to keep calm and it will have long shutter speeds...not working without tripod to avoid blurryness.
The difference between a 200, which is much better to handle and a lot cheaper, and a 300 is not that big...keep your 200/2.8!!!
