they believe in the same prophets, so no they would not be blasphemous of any religion that is "of the book".
I can understand why muslims would get upset at the depiction of muhamed because of the mantra; "I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger”.
However, the prophet banned picture of himself because he believed it would result in idolatry. To me there appears to be an aspect of idolatry in the actions of the protests.

right. i should have asked "have muslims not offended any group of people in the world?"

Just think, that part of your religion never would have happened if you'd settled a place like Northern Minnisota, or say, Siberia. Wonder how long 5 times a day prayer would last if you had to trudge through 4 feet of snow to get there.
As far as I know there is something called "Chichan" (Chechnia?) Look in the map.
Hundreds of Muslims come each year from different parts of the world to learn Islam in AlAzhar here in Egypt. Some of them come from ex-russian countries, and do go back.

I don't recall any (especially no insults, mockeries of prophets). But if "some" did it would be wrong. As I said, respect for both sides should exist.

That wouldn't happen. The very same prophets, all but Muhammed (PBUH), are in the Bible as well.

So, if "some" did though, the government of the country should apologize? For example, if someone in Iran publishes something mocking Judaism, the Iranian government should issue a public apology?
What about the Iranian investigation into whether or not the holocaust happened? There are many people that find that offensive. Should Iran apologize to the Jews (and others that suffered) for that?

Jesus, Abraham, Moses among others... they're in the both the Bible and Qu'ran. However, Muhammed (PBUH) was the last prophet in the Qu'ran, but he's not in the Bible. I'm not too sure about Peter, Ezekiel, Mark, and the others, but I believe the twelve apostles are also in the Qu'ran too - I'm merely assuming here mainly because of so many similarities.

Definitely.

"Investigating" the Holocost is NOT "Insulting" or "Mocking" or "Offencing".
It's perfectly normal to question if a God exists for example, but what is not normal nor acceptable to insult who does beleive/not beleive a God exists just for that.
"Investigating" the Holocost is NOT A CRIME.
As you know there is an international law to condamn Anti-Semistic, that frightens the whole west, the whole world maybe, and there are very few who dare to say it's offensive, why?
I'll leave the answer.

Are you sure that investigating the holocaust isnt offensive or insulting to anyone?
Making a cartoon is also not a crime.
Im not sure I follow about the international law. I wasn't aware of an international law condemning anti-semitism. If thats what you mean?

That's correct.
The full "known" prophets tree, for those who want to know it (Arabic pronounciation), prophets' names are clickable.
However, Muhammed (PBUH) was the last prophet in the Qu'ran, but he's not in the Bible.
We Muslims beleive he (PBUH) is:

Well the thread was getting too long so didn't wanna read all of it.
I'm a muslim and I'll just make a point here.
At the time of Prophet Muhammad, people used to mock him on his face, but he never did anything back. He just took it, and continued his work...
Hope anyone learns anything from that kinda attitude.....
Y'know, it's easy to resort to violence, build hype and make a lot of noise. People should try doing something that's difficult...and that's what the prophet chose to do.
Peace.

EDIT:
/punchline: Muslims should try following the prophet for a change...

Thank you.
Jesus was a dirty peacenik too.
I believe the saying goes something like "Lord, save me from your followers."
Someone before mentioned faith being "worth dying for". I pick my battles. If I were forced, at gunpoint, to renounce my faith, I'd take the bullet. That's about it. Threatening someone else's life over it is so wrought with hypocricy it blows my mind.

Actually, in the US, hate crimes are much broader than just anti-semitism.

true. but he said international. there may be some UN sanctioned anti-semitism laws. i didnt know that. but also, a hate crime is different than hate-speech.

They claimed (as far as I know) that (6 millions?) jews were burnt somewhere in Germany in the holocost, What was the number of jews in the whole world then?
I won't argue with that, because I have little information about it, but it doesn't mean or include "insulting" to me. It's just the same like you all investigating me about my opinions, or my religion (excluding those who actually insult), that 's not a crime.

I'm sorry it's called "the Global anti-Semitism Review Act" (passed by Congress)
