    What to do?

    Hey everyone,
    I have a movie where I've used the following createEmptyMovieClip to make a clip where an external movie is loaded. I've gotton it to work with

    Code:
    //Projects Button - loads the Projects SWF file into the main time line.
    function openProjects() {
    _root.createEmptyMovieClip("siteContentPage_mc",_root.getNextHighestDepth());
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.loadMovie("../projects/Projects.swf");
    _root.siteContentPage_mc._y=68;
    _root.siteContentPage_mc._x=0;
    }
    Now inside this movie that is loaded successfully, I want to have another "createEmptyMovieClip" commmant to load another external movie. I am having trouble with the path. Here is what I've got...it looks good to me...but it doesn't work.

    Code:
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("LoadedPortfolio_mc",_root.siteContentPage_mc.getNextHighestDepth());
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.LoadedPortfolio_mc.loadMovie("instructions/Instructions.swf");
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.LoadedPortfolio_mc._y=17;
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.LoadedPortfolio_mc._x=135
    Any help is appreciated.

    If i were you, in your second portion of code i wouldnt use the _root. command and reference the entire path length, i would probably use _parent instead, that would make the paths easier and might stop the problems.

    Thanks..one more question

    Hi there,
    I managed to get it to work. I am wondering if you would be able to show me how I'd use _parent in my actionscript below.

    Code:
    on (release) {
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("LoadLinks_mc",_root.siteContentPage_mc.getNextHighestDepth());
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.LoadLinks_mc.loadMovie("../projects/Commercial/CommercialDropDown/CommercialDropDown.swf");
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.LoadLinks_mc._y=17;
    _root.siteContentPage_mc.LoadLinks_mc._x=0;
    }
    That would probably make things much easier. This took me hours to figure out where I was going wrong. Thank Goodness I am patient..hehehe...

    Have a great day,

    Greg
