    Actually when I was asking whether you wanted to more 'stylized' characters I was thinking more along the lines of Yoda or what Blink posted as opposed to the 'classic' human form, if you will, that has 'standard' proportions and whatnot.

    Swift3D (or any other 3D modeling program) would let you be more creative in the respect that if you wanted to create some kind of wacky character like Mickey Mouse then you would be able to do so. From what you said though, we're back to Poser.

    the more i think about it the more i would recommend max with the swift3d plugin. you can always buy models for it and the student prices are pretty good (not thousands anyway)

    Yes, final output in Illustrator would be more like the splash screens on those pages and the box art of GTA:SA.
