    NHL playoffs

...and after way too long of a drought, playoff hockey starts. Fire, passion, playing like there's no tomorrow. No better sport to watch.

Icing on the cake? The Rangers made the playoffs.

Cherry on top? They're playing the Devils, I'm minutes from BOTH arenas.

Who else is excited and who's your team?

Red Wings are doing really well this season. Regardless I've never been a fan of Detroit anything.

Every Time the wings have a good regular season the bomb in the playoff's

Inversely everytime they barely get into the playoff's the take stanley home.
I'm still rooting for the wings

Playoff time which should be renamed playoff season is the only time I watch. The competition is fierce, either they have game or there out.

The only team I hate are the Ducks, pansy sissy boys who rely on acting.

That makes no sense. Boston and NY usually have trouble getting along for some reason, so just root for the Devils

Flyers are so damn unpredictable anymore, they started out nicely and they falter anymore.

    Still, I'm rooting for em.

Hanlon did a good job coaching getting that team to consistently play hard and smart, as best as they could. Alex O. needs to learn he's not a one man team and he'll be a more complete player when he can make the guys on his line better, not just by trying to singlehandedly win games. Look at Thornton/Cheechoo, perfect example.

If the Flyers even beat Buffalo, it won't be easy. The Sabres are way more disciplined and consistent. Hatcher will be a liability because he can't move, Gauthier may end up taking more pentalties than intimidating a relatively young team that can absorb a few hits. Eche is well...Eche. We'll see how long he lasts.

As for the Rangers/Devils, historically, the Rangers have stepped it up against the Devils, even during the past 9 years of suckage. Don't assume since they're on an 11 game tear, Marty is back in form and the Gionta line is a cash machine they'll walk all over the Rangers who have been inconsistent at times. I think the rivalry factor here is overlooked and tilts in the Rangers favor, but we'll need Henke to bring his A-game, and Rucchin/Ruchinsky back because Jagr's going to be shadowed the whole series. But be warned, a motivated Jagr in the playoffs is a dangerous thing. Devils will score on turnovers by Tyutin. He's been shaky all season (he's only 22 and on the top D-line) and made a lot of mistakes in big-pressure games.

Should be the best first-round series to watch.

Sk8krog...which game do you have tix to?

Devils home games behind Brodeur. No doubt the series will be strong and each has a strong chance. I'm just as eager as anyone else to see Jagr at his best, always been a fan of him regardless of his jersey.

Bah - as a Canucks fan, I'm less than stoked about this year's playoffs...

Time to cheer on the Flames, I suppose...
