    Flash 8

I have a complicated swish made site that uses Flash 6. Works well and has done fore the last year. Within the last couple of weeks the movies on this particular site have refused to show anything. After hours of mucking around I upgraded all the movies to Flash 8. All is well now in Opera and IE. Why should this happen?

    with thanks

swf8 is as2 swf6 is as1 different languages. different usages.

If nothing with dynamic text is showing it's the flashplayer9 bug.

In short you need to update swishmax.

    Thanks for that Frets.

Tell me what comes first. Does the browser change and require the version of flash to change or is it the other way round.

    with thanks

    Browser is indifferent.

If your not seeing dynamic text as you did before it's because of the fp9 bug

If your exporting to swf8 (as2) and your scripts are designed for swf765
you need to adjust your scripting.

If you have been dabbling alot in as2 you need to make sure all your scripts are as2
And finally if you are designing for as2/swf8 you need to export as swf8
