Decent start Dri. I suppose I can sort of see what you're going for. Unfortunately, I don't really think that the image blends well as a whole. There are contradictory lines all over, and combined with the colours it is hard on the eyes. The right side of the image looks fine, but I think the left let it down. This is all my opinion of course.
Let's see what you've got lefty.

i dont like the dots and stripe patterns on the left as well. On the right side u see this beautiful grey scales of a girl, then there are this distracting and uncomfortably looking patterns (not to mention the sharp jagged edges). its like done by 2 completely different person.
...sorry, the patterns let it down

Just kidding. you have a whole week.
I am going to be gone for about a week starting next thursday just so you know.

Let's see how this goes....
I've had this volley in my head for 2 months now. I'm pretty happy with the overall feel that was in my head. But of course let the critiques fly.
As far as the 'vector' stuff goes...yeah, this was a tad weak on that. The only thing i used that was vector was the arrow going up by the text. And the element i used from dric's image was teh red stripes which i used as a wallpaper.

not too shabby willy. I think the left picture frame has a little too much shadow but whatever.

Not PWD
Two pretty good volleys, not absolutely wowing me but still. Pretty amazing. I can't wait to see some more vector from you guys.

lefteye, i would suggest keeping your tones balanced, especially when introducing various stocks into the same volley. for example, the shadows on the sofa are just as light as the wall that it's infront of, makes it appear a little flat. try darkening the shadows of your sofa in your .psd (or what have you) and let me know what you think. other than that, i would say that this is a great piece.
on a side note, i'm quite nit picky about color pallets and i think you've got various hues of which some are so rich that i think they compete with each other and leave out the subtle ones. but only take this with a grain of salt, it's your vision man.

holy crap...i'm sorry guys, but i just looked at my image again with my monitor at work, and it looks COMPLETELY different to me than at home...especially the couch. Everything should have a rich color to it, but from this monitor, everything looks washed out and sucky. Sorry.

looks good willy. your use of vector art is pretty weak though
i'll get going on something soon once i get some time and ideas

to be honest, i didn't see your rule on vector art until i started...i decided that i'd work more with vectors in the second round....but, no excuses, sorry
