It's amazing what other countries allow / get away with. In the states and a few other places (I'm sure), you'd first get slapped with the indecent exposure suit, followed by a million dollar pain and suffering suit. You get slapped with so many suits, they'd start calling you Burlington.
Funny video, though. Sure is an interesting way to use the restroom (handle bars and squat).

how in the hell did they come up with that as a way to use the toilet. That doesn't appear comfortable in the least. Can that country possibly any more juvenile?

It sure beats the hell out of making like patty cake and catching the clap...
edit: nevermind, the internet says it's virtually impossible to catch ST-I/Ds from the toilet seat...

its common in Europe too, maybe not the handle, but we lovingly reffered to them as the pop and squats. yeeeah...not fun

Ah, gotta love Japan... =^_^=
It's funny when you look at it - they have possibly the least advanced toilets (basically holes in the ground) and possibly the most advanced (seat warmers, MP3 players, built in bidet, etc.) They're funny that way.

Grandfather to the stars
I've long held the view, which I've discussed with Japanese friends, that they arrived from outer space many, many years ago, settled next to China and tried to blend in, but they never quite made it. Witness the TV, Karaoke, poisonous fish to eat and any food that's dredged up from hundreds of metres of mud.
Nice folks, though, just odd.
